Larry Herman's photographs are part of museum collections in several countries. In the UK, the Museum of London, National Galleries of Scotland, Tate Britain, and the Victoria & Albert Museum, among others. His work is also in the collections of various trade unions and many individuals.

He won several UK Arts Council grants and grants from the Ford Foundation, the International Fund for Concerned Photography, and was a finalist in the Internatinal Fund for Documentary Photography, San Franscisco.

His work has been published throughout the world. He participated in numerous multi-person shows, including the seminal: ART FOR SOCIETY exhibition at the Whitechapel Art Gallery, London in 1978. He has had one-person shows in several countries.

Larry was a trade union activist in the British National Union of Journalists. Originally from New York City, he inmigrated to the UK during the Vietnam War. Larry died in December 2021.
